Three posts later and I still don't know what a granota is. Can anybody find me a Catalan-English translation tool? Please, the suspense is killing me!
Interesting tidbit I picked up from Wikipedia:
English words of Catalan origin
* Barracks, from barraca, used for several kinds of buildings. It passed to French barraque/baraque and, during the The Thirty Years War, passed to the European languages (English in 1678)[1].
* Mayonnaise, from maonesa via Spanish mahonesa and French mayonnaise, a sauce made with oil and raw eggs typical of Maó, capital of the island of Menorca.[2]
* Allioli, from all i oli, a typical sauce made by mixing olive oil and garlic with a mortar and pestle.
O Viquipedia, thou art omniscient...
